Regenesys Business School, in partnership with Mining Weekly, is hosting a discussion forum on “The Future of HR in Mining in a New Digital Age” on 7 February 2019. The discussion will take place from 08h00 to 10h00 at their campus in Pybus Road, Sandton. Regenesys is proud to announce that some of the leading mining companies will be participating as speakers in the discussion including: Anglo American, Sasol Mining, Anglogold Ashanti, Exxarro, ArcelorMittal, Northam Platinum, Sibanye Stilwater and Glencore.

Regenesys is concerned that the digital revolution is having an unprecedented impact on the future of work, people and learning. Developments in robotics, social digital media, driverless vehicles, artificial intelligence, drones, machine learning, and virtual reality, are changing the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the future workforce in mining.

HR professionals in the mining industry have to find new ways to manage talent – attract, develop, reward and retain, and to inspire passion, innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and excellence. In order to succeed in this rapidly changing new world, we have to embrace the change, continuously learn and stay ahead of the game.

Our forum of experts will give you insights into the future of HR in the mining industry and the challenges faced in a new digital age. Audience members will be able to interact with forum members and have their most pressing questions answered.

This forum will allow participants the opportunity to join a discussion and interact with some of the most incredible, experienced and forward thinking HR in mining experts in our country. They will share their expert advice and guidance on the role HR will play in reshaping the sector and the new approach required by management.

This forum will give attendees in-depth understanding of the challenges when it come to HR as the workforces becomes increasingly specialized and feel the pressures of global human capital trends. The discussion will address the fact that HR leaders in the mining industry are those who balance the need for labour and elasticity with the constant drive toward increased productivity and innovation. The panelists will share ideas and knowledge about how a HR strategy for a mining company must reflect the future landscape of the industry and an increasingly important factor of automation.
