Tanzania liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal.

Location
South-east Lindi region, Tanzania.

Project Owner/s
Equinor and Shell, along with Exxon Mobil, Ophir Energy and Pavilion Energy.

Project Description
The terminal will help commercialise Tanzania’s deep-water offshore gas reserves.

Shell operates Tanzania's Block 1 and Block 4, which hold 16-trillion cubic feet in estimated recoverable gas.

Equinor operates Block 2, in which ExxonMobil holds a stake, and that is estimated to hold more than 20-trillion cubic feet of gas.

The project is estimated at $30-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
The Tanzania government aims to reach a final investment decision for the facility in 2025.
