Project Description
The Tangguh liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant is the first fully vertically integrated LNG operation in Indonesia, producing gas off the shore of Papua Barat and delivering LNG to customers in Asia and the US. The plant started operations in 2009 and is operating at design capacity. Work is under way to expand the plant through the addition of a third LNG train.

The gas for the third LNG train, and also in support of production for trains 1 and 2, will come from a phased offshore development of new shallow water platforms, new pipelines to shore, new infield pipelines, a new integrated onshore receiving facility and new development wells.

Tangguh’s capacity is currently 7.6-million tons and is expected to reach 11.4-million tons when the expansion project is completed.
