Australia-headquartered Syrah Resources has signed a binding term sales agreement with Qingdao Langruite Graphite (Langruite) for the sale of at least 48 000 t of natural graphite from the Balama mine, in Mozambique, next year.

The agreement also allows for an additional 12 000 t at Syrah’s option.

Langruite, based in Shangdong, China, is a related entity of Qingdao Guangxing Electronic Materials, with which Syrah has developed spot business this year.

The agreement includes the sale of fine and coarse flake products, across a range of fixed carbon grades.
