Project Description
The project involves the decommissioning of the brownfield development and installation of new subsea equipment supporting a floating production system located in Mississippi Canyon, in the Gulf of Mexico, in water about 2 000 m deep.
The project includes:
• the decommissioning of existing equipment, including manifold, jumpers and flying leads;
• the fabrication and installation of 8.8 km of steel lazy wave riser, flowline and pipeline end terminations;
• the installation of 8.8 km gas lift umbilical, replacement manifold and associated hardware;
• the fabrication and installation of manifold foundation and seven jumpers; and precommissioning and testing.

Technip has been awarded a lumpsum contract for the decommissioning of the brownfield development and the installation of new subsea equipment.
The group’s operating centre in Houston, Texas, will perform overall project management.
The infield flowline and riser will be welded at the group’s spoolbase in Mobile, Alabama.
Vessels from Technip’s fleet are expected to perform the offshore installation in the second half of 2016. The Deep Blue, one of the world’s largest ultradeep-water pipelay and subsea construction vessels will install the steel lazy wave riser, flowline, and gas lift umbilical, while the Global 1200 will install the manifold and foundation.
