SSR makes changes to its leadership team
US-based SSR Mining has reorganised key roles and responsibilities within its executive leadership team.
The leadership changes include appointing executive VP, chief legal and administrative officer Michael Sparks as CFO, succeeding Alison White, who is leaving the company.
Executive VP, chief development officer Edward Farid will become chief strategy officer and VP human resources Joanne Thomopoulos will become executive VP human resources.
Executive chairperson Rod Antal said in a statement that the changes, which were effective immediately, were necessary to realign accountabilities to better support the business.
This is particularly important as SSR continues to navigate and assess the impacts of the landslide at its Çöpler mine, in Türkiye, last month. Nine people remain unaccounted for after the incident.
Bill MacNevin and John Ebbett will continue in their current roles as executive VP operations and sustainability, and executive VP growth and innovation, respectively.
