Southern African railways conference heads for Gauteng

The Southern African Railways Association, an association of railways utilities in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), will hold its fifth conference and exhibition at Emperors Palace, in Gauteng, from May 26 to 28.

The gathering will be held under the theme ‘The role of rail transport in economic development in Southern Africa’ and is expected to attract high-level government officials, including SADC Ministers, as well as railways industry experts from across the region.

The conference will cover a number of issues affecting the regional railways sector, including transport policy and infrastructure, funding and investment, business strategy, technology and skills development.
