Now in its second year on African soil, SMC Pneumatics has released its training schedule for 2017 which now includes more course dates thanks to the courses growing popularity.

SMC’s internationally and MERSETA accredited three and four-day courses provide comprehensive fluid power training whilst remaining competitively priced. Basic pneumatics, electro-pneumatics, basic hydraulics, electro-hydraulics and mechatronic courses will be held in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban throughout the year and customised courses are once again available upon request.

All courses have been designed and developed to SMC’s stringent international standards and are undertaken by SMC South Africa’s training manager, Riaan van Eck. Each course aims to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the topic and covers everything from principles to practical to ensure that companies get the most out of their equipment as well as their people.

“Equipping people with knowledge is crucial to ensuring the optimisation of manufacturing processes. Getting the most out of SMC’s products also means increased efficiencies and reduced downtime which is of great value to any company,” explains van Eck.

“Another great benefit of our courses is that these can simply be used for new employees who require more knowledge on the industry or for those looking to brush up on their knowledge”.

SMC has invested heavily into its training facilities in Midrand, Johannesburg since setting up with one of its main attractions being the FMS-200 - a -4meter+ mechatronic modular training unit designed to replicate a production line. “The FMS-200 has always been a major attraction in our showroom as well as in our mechatronic courses, most likely because of how dynamic it is and because of its sheer size. By truly understanding where each component fits in, learners get the most out of our courses and all of our training equipment is designed with this in mind.” concludes van Eck.

Classes are limited to 12 participants to provide individual attention.
