Global infrastructure software manufacturer Bentley Systems has announced the project finalists for its 2016 Be Inspired Awards.

The annual awards honour the “extraordinary work” of Bentley users advancing infrastructure design, construction and operations worldwide. Ten independent jury panels comprising distinguished industry experts selected 54 finalists from more than 300 nominations submitted by organisations in 80 countries.

The finalists will present their projects to their peers, the jurors and the media at Bentley’s Year in Infrastructure 2016 conference, which takes place in London, in the UK, from November 1 to 3.

The Be Inspired Awards finalists from Africa for 2016 include SKA South Africa for its MeerKAT radio telescope array project in the Northern Cape of South Africa in the Innovation in Asset Performance category.

In the Innovation in Land Development category, Voyants Solutions has been nominated for its feasibility study and associated preliminary and detail designs in secondary cities and the Agatare informal settlement in Kigali, Rwanda.

Lastly, in the Innovation in Offshore category, Seaway Heavy Lifting has been nominated for its domestic supply obligation Sonam topside installation project in Lagos, Nigeria.
