Sinetech
Sinetech is a leading designer and supplier of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems and components, power protection, power conversion and power distribution products. It stocks over 3 500 advanced power products, including solar PV panels, uninterruptible power supply systems, batteries, inverters, chargers, controllers and surge protection.
With experienced system engineers that have over 20 years’ experience in the PV solar environment, Sinetech offers complete turnkey solutions for PV solar systems for private homes, industrial rooftop systems and solar farms.
Established in 1995, the company is located on a 4 000 m² area at 2 Samantha street, Strijdom Park, Randburg. This includes a 1 100m² three-storey office building and a 1 000 m² warehouse. Sinetech employs about 25 people.
The company has installed its own solar PV panel and weather reference station on the roof of its premises. This system comprises three different 3 kW installations, each with different PV technologies, namely poly, mono and copper, indium and selenium – otherwise known as CIS. All three systems are connected to three identical independent grid-tie inverters. Sinetech’s rooftop PV system now provides independent real-time PV and weather data of the exact location. This accurate system data will be made available to universities and technical colleges. It is also used to train course attendees.
Sinetech’s training centre, the Sinetech Institute of Technology, offers independent courses on solar system design and installation, and offers product-specific training, which is often presented by specialists from the original product suppliers to enhance local knowledge. Sinetech is currently designing new course material, which will be offered from time to time to people from disadvantaged communities to encourage their interest in renewable energy and the scientific aspects of PV solar.
