Siemens Campus Erlangen project, Germany
Name of the Project
Siemens Campus Erlangen project.
Location
The project is located in the southern part of Erlangen, Germany.
Client
Siemens.
Project Description
The Erlangen campus is Siemens’ largest location worldwide. The campus will include a hotel, restaurants and service operations, as well as office buildings, and will be built in seven modules.
Module 1 involves the construction of eight office buildings, three multistorey car parks and public areas with food outlets and service facilities.
The second module will involve the construction of six office buildings, including a 70-m-high skyscraper; the Maurer memorial; three parking garages; and public areas with food outlets and service facilities.
In modules 3 to 7, the existing buildings will be gradually replaced by new building structures by 2030.
With state-of-the-art building and energy technology, the premises will be developed over the long term into Siemens’ first carbon dioxide-neutral location worldwide. It will use an innovative district cooling and heating concept, and innovative building technology.
Once complete, Erlangen will gain a new city district larger than 75 football fields. Openness and transparency will characterise not only the outward features of the campus but also the work environments inside the buildings, which will have an open, flexible design.
The campus will bring together a range of the company’s research and development units and enable a direct, intensive exchange among experts from different business fields.
