Indonesia.

Client
PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of PT PLN.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a 100 MW power plant.

The plant will be used to provide back-up electrical energy to ensure the reliability and availability of power to Jakarta’s new mass rapid transport system under construction.

The new plant will operate on six engines.

Potential Job Creation
Not stated.

Value
Not stated.

Duration
The project is expected to be operational in early 2019.

Latest Developments
Wärtsilä, in joint venture with PT PP, has been contracted to deliver a smart power generation plant to PT Indonesia Power.

The smart power generation solution was selected because of the fast start-up and ramp-up time of the engines.

In the event of a power outage, the smart power generation solution will be able to restore full power to the rapid transport system within minutes, whereas a conventional power plant would not be capable of such a rapid reaction time.

Key Contracts and Suppliers
Wärtsilä and PT PP (power plant).

On Budget and on Time?
Not stated.
