Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (Seifsa) has invited metals and engineering (M&E) companies to enter into this year’s iteration of its Awards for Excellence.

The awards provide a platform to celebrate the achievements of employers in the M&E sector, including those that are not members of Seifsa, says CEO Lucio Trentini.

The federation launched the awards in 2015, when economic conditions such as unreliable energy supply, rising input costs and slow growth were taking a toll on the sector, as is still the case today.

Hence Seifsa’s establishment of the awards to recognise companies that have prevailed and even excelled despite these challenges.

Companies can enter at https://www.seifsa.co.za/awards-for-excellence/ before September 30.

The 2022 Awards for Excellence will take place on November 18.

The awards comprise ten categories including Most Digitally Innovative, Most Transformed, Best Customer Service, Workplace Health and Safety, Company Artisan Training, Corporate Social Reasonability, Environment Stewardship, Business Resilience (Covid-19), Businesswomen of the Year and Young Entrepreneur.

There are also three internal Seifsa awards for the Association of the Year, Bursar of the Year and Graduate Class of 2021.
