Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, has released a new version of Ampla, its innovative manufacturing operations management (MOM) software, in the southern African market.New features further extend Schneider Electric’s capabilities in inventory management and ISA-95 compliant supply chain configuration, while delivering improved performance and scalability. With the inclusion of a new, native connector to Schneider Electric’s Wonderware Historian, this latest release cements Ampla’s position as a key player for production and inventory accounting systems globally.

Enhanced efficiency in every process area
Designed primarily for continuous process industries such as mining, metals and minerals processing, Ampla helps improve operational performance by up to 25 percent. Ampla’s innovative operation management functionality delivers real-time visibility of plant and business information so users can improve competitiveness in global markets and maximise shareholder returns. By driving the optimisation of production, processes and performance, Ampla increases operational efficiencies and reduces energy consumption.

Inventory management: supply chain management
Ampla 2014 R2 offers increased supply chain configuration flexibility with the addition of ISA-95 compliant Inventory Management. This includes features such as Contributors; Weighted Average Movements (WAM); the concept of Work Units; Material Constraints and Material Movement Look-up.

Delivering enhanced visualisation across the entire supply chain, the addition of these features will enable users to obtain better visibility into their work-in-progress inventory and gain significant performance improvements by identifying and removing process bottlenecks.

Integration: additional native connectivity
The Ampla 2014 R2 release delivers new, native connectors to Wonderware Historian enabling customers to better leverage their existing software investment. With a simpler deployment methodology and a range of supported interfaces, the new connector removes the need to use third-party tools between Ampla and Wonderware Historian.

Performance and scalability
Ampla 2014 R2 delivers further enhancements to performance and scalability, including the introduction of Data Table Caching and Reprocessing improvements. These features take advantage of the in-memory infrastructure to improve the performance of larger data queries, reprocessing and Calculated Quality functions. Testing shows a greater than three-fold average performance improvement. Based on previous data, 2015. This is not a guarantee of future performance or performance in your particular circumstances
