Gas provider African Oxygen (Afrox) has retained its key contract to supply energy group Sasol with compressed gases until December 31, 2020.

With the yearly value of compressed gas sales to Sasol currently at R26-million, this five-year contract extension was expected to result in total sales for the group of some R150-million.

In addition, Sasol bought a range of hard goods on contract from Afrox and, in January, this contract was also extended for a further five-year period until January 2019, for an estimated total value of R32-million.

“The extension of our gas supply contract ensures a mutually beneficial business relationship with this major South African fuels and chemical supplier.

“We supply Sasol with many locally manufactured special and imported gases and, over the years, it has become Afrox's largest local special gases customer,” said Afrox MD Brett Kimber.
