VANCOUVER (miningweekly.com) – TSX-V-listed Santacruz Silver Mining has restarted operations at its Veta Grande mill, located in Zacatecas state, Mexico.

The mill had been standing idle since November 3, when the Mexican Environmental Protection Agency halted operations until certain licensing documentation related to the operatorship of the mill was filed with regulatory bodies.

The company responded by filing all requested documentation with the appropriate regulatory bodies on November 8.

Santacruz said last week that it continued mining during the shutdown, thereby building a “substantial stockpile of mineralised material” while completing mill maintenance activities.

Santacruz entered into a definitive agreement with Minera Contracuña, in November 2015, through which Minera Contracuña had granted Santacruz the right, for 30 years, to explore, mine and operate its Veta Grande and Minillas silver/gold/zinc/lead mineral properties in central Mexico’s Zacatecas state.
