The Rufisque Offshore, Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Deep Offshore joint venture (RSSD JV), which comprises Woodside Energy (Senegal), Capricorn Senegal (a subsidiary of Cairn Energy PLC), FAR and Senegal State-owned oil company Petrosen.

Project Description
Phase 1 of the development will target an estimated 231-million barrels of oil resources.

The project will comprise 23 subsea wells tied back to a standalone floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility with supporting infrastructure using primary depletion and waterflood as the secondary recovery mechanism.

The FPSO, expected to have a production capacity of 100 000 bbl/d, will process the oil before it is exported to market by tankers.

The FPSO will allow for the integration of potential future development phases, including the export to shore and future subsea tie-backs.

Latest Developments
Following the award of the exploitation authori­sation by the Senegal government on January 8, 2020, the RSSD JV has received the relevant regulatory approvals to proceed with the project, including the execution of the host government agreement with government.

Meanwhile, Woodside, as the operator of the RSSD JV, has executed the purchase contract for the FPSO facility and issued full notices to proceed for the drilling and subsea construction and installation contracts.

MODEC (acquisition of FPSO, with an oil processing capacity of 100 000 bbl/d); Subsea Integration Alliance, a nonincorporated alliance between Subsea 7 and OneSubsea (construction and installation of the integrated subsea pro­duction systems and subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines); Diamond Offshore (well-based contracts for the Ocean BlackRhino and Ocean BlackHawk drill rigs).
