The South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) has announced that the annual SAICE National Awards will take place on 1 September in Gauteng. The SAICE 2022 National Awards will celebrate and reward the outstanding individuals and projects that showcase innovation, excellence, leadership and good practice in the development of civil engineering.

They also aim to create an awareness of the contribution made to the civil engineering industry by SAICE members. Professor Marianne Vanderschuren, President of SAICE, explains that these awards continue to encourage sustainability, leadership and excellence through the civil engineers, technicians and technologists who continue to pioneer the future for a sustainable civil engineering industry.

This year’s awards are being held at Montecasino, in Fourways, and will be hosted as a hybrid event to accommodate many of the SAICE members around the country who cannot attend in person.

SAICE is collaborating with various companies this year to make this event a success; and showcase the value of industry collaboration by promoting and acknowledging professional excellence in the sector.

SAICE recognises and appreciates the following companies for their continued support of the annual event; and for various categories that form part of the awards.

Sponsors include:

  • Mukona Consulting Engineers
  • Murray and Dickson Construction
  • Mariswe
  • SKI Civil and Structural Engineers
  • Reinforced Earth
  • SIKA South Africa
  • PPS for Professionals
  • Zutari

“Together with our sponsors, we remain committed to showcasing and acknowledging projects and individuals who apply forward-thinking engineering to South Africa’s built environment to enable sustainable infrastructure development for future generations,” concludes Prof. Vanderschuren.
