Project Description
The project will comprise about 820 km of new 61- to 107-cm-diameter natural gas pipeline in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

It will also include appurtenant facilities with ten compressor stations, 21 meter stations, six tie-ins,
11-pig (a pig is tool used to clean and dry a pipeline and/or inspect it for damage or corrosion) launcher and receiver facilities, and 78 mainline valves.

The Panhandle and Trunkline Backhaul projects include upgrades and modifications to allow for bidirectional flow of natural gas on their existing pipeline systems.

Latest Developments
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has concluded that construction and operation of the projects will have some adverse and significant environmental impacts. However, these impacts will be reduced to acceptable levels with the implementation of Rover’s Panhandle’s, and Trunkline’s proposed mitigation measures, and the additional measures recommended by the FERC in the final environmental impact statement.
