JSE-listed cement company PPC on Thursday announced the resignation of its joint MD Richard Tomes, who would pursue other opportunities.

The company said that Johann Claassen, who served as joint-MD with Tomes, would continue in the position of MD.

“We thank Richard for his contribution over the years and wish him well in his future endeavours,” PPC executive chairperson Bheki Sibiya commented.

Tomes’ resignation followed that of former PPC CEO and director Ketso Gordhan last month as a result of a “difference of opinion” with the board regarding board procedures for the approval of certain decisions.
