Technology ecosystem company Resolution Circle has welcomed 115 South African graduates to its graduate internship programme, which aims to develop them into high-quality, employable individuals that can excel in South Africa’s economy.

Ecosystem

Resolution Circle is an ‘idea-to-barcode’ ecosystem that commercialises technology, incubates technology start-up businesses and provides work-based experience and training for graduates.
The internship also provides participants with practical skills in decision-making and client services, while adding value to the growth of the organisation.

The selected graduates will be provided with the opportunity to gain experience in their field of knowledge.

Graduates specialise in various professional fields and disciplines, including industrial design, digital media, electrical, electronics, mechanical, civils, quantity surveying, journalism, strategic communication, accounting, economics, industrial psychology, human resource management, logistics management, marketing management, law, commerce, information technology, safety management, automation, business administration, occupational health finance, business management, chemicals, financial management, tourism management and hospitality management.

This wide approach is in line with Resolution Circle’s vision to provide end-to-end commercialisation support for technology start-ups.

Resolution Circle CEO and professor Willem Clarke, who welcomed the interns to the organisation earlier this month, said interns had to oversee their own career destiny.

He suggested that, during the first few years, at a new company, graduates should not pursue a high salary, but should instead ensure that they gain the appropriate experience to build up to a career goal.

Clarke added that the graduates could gain such experience by collaborating on successful projects.

Different Sectors

The graduate internship programme is funded by the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (Merseta) and will run until the end of the year.

Merseta, which was established to promote skills development in terms of the Development Act of 1998, reflects on different sectors of the South African economy and ensures that the National Development Strategy is fulfilled.
