Anticorrosion solutions provider Corrocoat South Africa – a division of UK-headquartered Corrocoat –  is the largest and most experienced contractor for lining small bore process and fire water pipes in South Africa, and has been providing maintenance and support services for all corrosion related repairs and refurbishments, since 1980.

Its branches in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg, are fully equipped and staffed, offering the “most experienced and reputable lining and coating services” available for high-risk, high-value products, as well as those with expected to operate over lengthy time periods.

Corrocoat is considered as a global leader in treatment and prevention of corrosion in all challenging environments and industries, with 47 global operations in 30 countries.

They manufacture and apply a comprehensive range of specialist glass-flake epoxies, vinyl and polyester GRP linings and coatings; thick film urethane linings; rubber linings and fluoropolymer linings, tailored to suit virtually any corrosive environment, resulting in significant savings on overall life-cycle costs, reduced downtime and increased life expectancy.

In South Africa the company recently acquired its BBBEE rating at a Level 5.

Corrocoat specialises in glass flake coatings with a variety of speciality applications.

The company's services include:

·         Pipe linings – large and small bore linings.

·         Tank linings -  high temperature & aggressive media

·         Road Tanker lining

·         Fluoro-polymer & rubber linings

·         Concrete protection & acid proofing

·         Chemical-, abrasion- and cavitation resistant linings & coatings

·         Food grade linings & coatings

·         Pump & valve refurbishment

All work is completed under full-time competent supervision, and according to a detailed quality control, inspection and test plans based on the manufacturer’s international best practice standards, with full time quality control and inspection of all critical aspects of the work by NACE-certified coating inspectors.

The same skills and resources are available for any maintenance, repair or refurbishment that may be required in future, and will be completed to the same standard as the original lining work.

Production Management and Supervision

The various production teams are supervised by Corrocoat-trained and certified supervisors. All supervisory staff are trained in Corrocoat procedures, specifications and standards, as well as in quality control and quality assurance measures.

They are responsible for planning, organising and executing the projects allocated to their teams, and provide dedicated full-time leadership to the production teams under their control, as well as performing all quality control inspections on site.

The supervisory staffs are all long-term Corrocoat employees; some with more than 20 years of service with the company. All supervisory staff have hands-on experience in all the activities performed by their team members and have typically “come up through the ranks” within the company.

The supervisors hold various quality control inspection certifications, including from institutions like NACE, the Corrosion Institute of South Africa, and the South African Qualifications Authority; in addition to the Corrocoat competency certificates for the various activities performed by the company.
