Creamer Media's second edition of the 'Projects in Progress 2023' supplement offers a unique perspective for evaluating South Africa's current economic landscape, amid ongoing challenges, including that of load shedding. Through the presentation of various ongoing projects, this publication unveils encouraging signs of progress across the nation's economy.

Notable projects include Harmony Gold and Northam Platinum's solar photovoltaic endeavours, addressing energy generation and sustainability. Further, advancements in green hydrogen production by Sasol and the HySHiFT Consortium, along with Renergen's Virginia gas project, are poised to contribute to cleaner and more efficient energy sources. In the realm of infrastructure, projects like Eskom's Majuba rail and the South African National Roads Agency Limited's N2 Wild Coast Toll Road megabridge projects stand as compelling evidence of the enhancement of transport efficiency. Meanwhile, the Lesotho Highlands Water project – Phase 2 exemplifies remarkable progress in the water sector.

Within the mining sector, South Africa retains its global influence, albeit to a lesser extent, with developments such as De Beers' monumental Venetia Underground Project and DRDGOLD's Far West Gold Recoveries. Additionally, platinum group metal projects by Northam Platinum and Ivanplats further cement South Africa's position in the mining sector.

The supplement also casts its gaze beyond South Africa, acknowledging significant developments in mining projects across the African continent.

These modifications are aimed at making the text more engaging and coherent, but the original version is already quite well-composed.
