Products from brick and block maker on show
INTERLOCKING BLOCK-MAKING MACHINE Hydraform will showcase its interlocking building system at BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA
BUILDING LOCAL HOMES Hydraform won a contract to supply and build a turnkey housing project for a municipality in the Eastern Cape, providing homes for 27 families
Brick- and block-making machinery manufacturer Hydraform is ready to exhibit at mining and construction trade fair BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA 2015, which will run at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from September 15 to 18.
Hydraform sales manager Steven Tucker says Hydraform is keen to attend the event because of the great market it hopes to attract. “In attendance will be businesspeople from various sectors, entrepreneurs and contractors, all of whom will find great value and potential in our unique market offering.”
He adds that the expo is an ideal platform for the company to exhibit its latest products and demonstrate its interlocking building system to a captive and relevant audience, “BAUMA has a solid, global reputation for connecting exhibitors with their target market, which aligns with our mandate to grow our presence in South Africa and internationally.”
Hydraform will exhibit a comprehensive range of its products, including the V4, the latest addition to its conventional range of brick, block and paving production machinery, the M7Mi super interlocking block-making machines, as well as complementary accessory products. The Hydraform interlocking building system will complete the product exhibition.
“This is all about educating the market on the Hydraform interlocking building system, meeting existing and prospective clients, and also networking with key decision-makers and role-players in the affordable-housing market,” notes Tucker.
He says the company is in a unique position to provide a fresh and an exciting look at housing using not only its technical expertise on the workings of the machinery but also its knowledge of and available training in the use of an economically viable, durable construction method that uses locally available material.
The construction sector is constantly changing and developing, and, in South Africa and Africa, it is modernising fast. “However, modernising too quickly can cause complexities and often does not work successfully in the rural context. Hydraform has a firm grasp of this contextual conundrum and can respond to this with its highly adaptable machinery and systems,” says Tucker.
Company Growth
Demand for Hydraform’s products has shown measurable growth over the past few years and the company has remained steadfast in its offering, despite the economic challenges that the construction industry has faced.
The company has noted an uptake in its offering for the affordable-housing market, says Tucker. A prominent highlight for Hydraform was winning a contract to supply and build a turnkey housing project for a municipality in the Eastern Cape. “We are . . . completing the project in good time, providing homes for 27 families . . .”
Meanwhile, a few topics on the list for BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA grab Tucker’s attention: “Alternative building technologies, as well as rural and low-cost housing solutions in support of housing delivery, are relevant and necessary topics for discussion. Another potential point could address the many ‘copy products’ making their way to South Africa and how the market can guard against using untested and/or unsafe products.”
He adds that the company is looking forward to participating in an ongoing dialogue on promoting local manufacturing and how to navigate a tough export market.
“BAUMA CONEXPO is known worldwide as the building expo to attend and it could not be better located. We look forward to showing leaders in the local and broader African construction and infrastructure fields just what Hydraform can do and how it represents a firm solution for the global challenge of housing delivery,” concludes Tucker.
Hydraform will be located at Hall 5, Stand A30, and outside the hall at Stand ES220, with representatives on hand to discuss products and systems.
