JOHANNESBURG – ANC stalwart Ben Turok on Monday told Talk Radio 702 that President Jacob Zuma should “consider his position” after he created a fiasco, which saw South Africa have three Finance Ministers in four days.

Zuma inexplicably fired respected finance minister Nhlanhla Nene on Wednesday and replaced him with David Douglas van Rooyen, whose appointement prompted criticism from all quarters.

Zuma relented and appointed former finance minister Pravin Godhan back into his old position on Sunday.

Turok said recent events showed that Zuma was “rattled” and his behaviour was “unacceptable”.

The former long serving ANC MP said Zuma “had lost it”.

“Mr Zuma must think about his position very seriously”.

Gordhan previously held the postion of finance minister between 2009 and 2014. He was moved to the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs portfolio until his reappointment as finance minister on Sunday
