Project Description
Porthos will provide transport and storage services for several companies, including Air Liquide, Air Products, ExxonMobil and Shell, in the Port of Rotterdam.

The companies will supply their carbon dioxide (CO₂) to a collective pipeline that runs through the port area. The CO₂ will then be pressurised in a compressor station.

The  CO₂ will be transported through the Port of Rotterdam to depleted gasfields, about 20 km off the coast, in the North Sea, where it will be permanently stored at a depth of 3 km to 4 km under the seabed.
Porthos plans to store about 2.5-million tons a year for 15 years, totalling about 37-million tons.
