Plastics SA, the umbrella body representing the South African plastics industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nkululeko Skepe as its new Learning Material Developer.

Based at the company's head office in Midrand, Gauteng, Nkululeko will be responsible for developing learning materials to assist South African citizens in acquiring rare skills required by the industry. This is a brand-new position that has specifically been created by the Plastics SA Academy in order to better equip the industry with newly developed, top quality learning material.

Nkululeko holds a diploma in polymer technology from Nelson Mandela University and a certificate in operations management from Wits Plus. Prior to joining Plastics SA, he was employed by Aberdare Cables.

"We are delighted to welcome Nkululeko to the Plastics SA team," said Kirtida Bhana, Plastics SA's Training Executive. "His knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we work to create learning materials for the South African Plastics Industry and its employees. To better enable a skilled workforce in the plastics industry, we constantly review material and revisit industry needs. New entrants into the job market will be more enticed to enter the plastics industry with plastics-related trade qualifications, as the opportunity to be a skilled artisan will now be available."

His first project at Plastics SA will be to complete the development of the Plastics Manufacturing Machine Setter Trade learning material content.

"I am thrilled to be joining Plastics SA as its new Learning Material Developer," said Nkululeko. “I am passionate about the plastics industry, and look forward to contributing to the development of skills in the South African plastics industry”.

In his spare time, Nkululeko enjoys watching soccer, spending time with his family, and doing research. He describes himself as somebody who enjoys laughing and is an excellent listener. If he could dine with only one famous person, it would be Lionel Messi.
