PG Bison commissioned its new Siempelkamp Continuous Press in Piet Retief on 30 April 2017. The commissioning was completed ahead of schedule and without disrupting supply to customers. The new plant will increase PG Bison’s particleboard capacity and further enhance the quality of the product. Plans are already well advanced to further increase the capacity of this new plant from 680 m3 per day to 1000m3 per day.
PG Bison CEO, Gerhard Victor said, “I am very proud of the team, the way in which they executed this project, whilst keeping the old line running. It is truly remarkable and a world class performance!”
PG Bison has continuously invested in the board industry. All three of its board plants now produce panel products whether, BisonBord (particleboard) and SupaWood (MDF/HDF), using the latest international technology.
PG Bison also recently invested in Gloss board manufacturing capability an installed an additional MFB line. They plan to add additional capacity to their MDF /HDF line by December 2017.
