PETRONAS and Engen win third consecutive World Constructor Championship

Engen Petroleum’s proud association with motor racing has been sealed with yet another victory at the Japanese Grand Prix held on October 10th with the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team winning their third consecutive FIA Formula One World Constructors Championships secured at the 2016 Formula One Emirates Japanese Grand Prix.
As a member of the PETRONAS group, Engen collaborates with the global lubricants arm of their majority shareholder. PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS is a leading global lubricants player with a strong legacy in lubricants technology. PLI have developed superior lubricants for some of the world’s engineering pioneers, specifically the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula OneTM team.

Nico Rosberg took first place and Lewis Hamilton finished third extended the team’s championship lead to 593 points. Nico’s win also marks PETRONAS and Mercedes 47th victory out of 55 races since the introduction of turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 in 2014, underlining the outstanding performance of this winning partnership and the team’s commitment to succeed. MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula OneTM team completed the season with 765 points in total.
Nico Rosberg completed the 2016 Formula One season with 385 points at Abu Dhabi, securing his first World Driver’s championship, 5 points ahead of his team-mate, Lewis Hamilton.
