Perseus hits production targets

PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Perseus Mining has met its half-year and calendar year production targets, despite production in the three months to December falling, compared with the September quarter.

Perseus on Tuesday reported that gold production in the three months to December reached 68 078 oz, which was down from the 72 477 oz produced in the September quarter.

The Edikan mine, in Ghana, delivered 50 141 oz during the quarter under review, compared with the 54 595 oz in the previous quarter, while the Sissingue gold mine, in Cote d’Ivoire, delivered 17 937 oz, compared with the 17 882 oz in the September quarter.

In the half-year ended December, gold production from the two operations reached 140 555 oz, which was in line with the production guidance of between 130 000 oz and 150 000 oz, while production in the full calendar year reached 288 463 oz, also in line with the guidance of between 270 000 oz and 310 000 oz.

All-in sustaining costs for the half-year reached $999/oz, while the calendar year was reported at $994/oz.

For the half-year ended June, Perseus is forecasting production of between 130 000 oz and 150 000 oz, with production for the financial year ending June expected to reach between 271 000 oz and 291 000 oz.
