Established in 2013 by South African investors in partnership with Canada’s Maratek Environmental Inc, Papercor Maratek currently reclaims and recycles solvents from blanket and roller washes from the printing and publishing industries.

Maratek Environmental Inc, which holds a 10% stake in Papercor Maratek, with local companies Reconsolve and Coalition Trading controlling 70% and 20% respectively, is the manufacturer of the equipment supplied by the company. This comprises 12 primary models of specialised recycling technologies in multiple configurations that can be applied to a variety of environmental and cost-saving applications to process waste streams from 20 ℓ/d to 2 000 ℓ/d.

Papercor Maratek recycles waste streams to reclaim identified solvents for reuse in the same application. The reclaimed blanket and roller washes are resold to the printing industry.

Papercor Maratek’s 430 m3 recycling plant, in Steeledale, Gauteng, is equipped with an SRS300 solvent recycler to service customers who require the recycling of their used solvents. The company sells similar equipment to clients who wish to do their recycling in-house.
