Project Description
With an installed capacity of 82.5 MW, Paleiheuwel is currently Enel’s biggest power plant and can generate more than 153 GWh/y. This is equivalent to the yearly consumption needs of about 48 800 South African households.

The project will prevent the emission of more than 140 000 t of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year.

The PV power plant is supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement with South African power utility Eskom, as part of the third round of the Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.
