PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Dual-listed uranium miner Paladin Energy is expecting its September quarter production to be around 15% below expectations, owing to plant works at its Langer Heinrich mine, in Namibia.

During the three months to June, the Langer Heinrich mine produced 1.38-million pounds of uranium oxide.

The miner said on Tuesday that production during the quarter would be impacted by yearly scrubber maintenance, the ion exchange resin changeover and an unexpected plant scaling problem, which was identified in the June quarter.

Paladin noted that the scaling issues had been more extensive than originally thought, and the resin change had taken longer than anticipated.

Production for the full 2015 financial year was expected to remain unchanged at between 5.4-million pounds and 5.8-million pounds of uranium oxide.
