Company Announcement - Metal theft is a crime that impacts on every level of society, from disrupting households to businesses to transportation. In South Africa alone it is estimated that R5 Billion Rand is lost annually due to this crime, which then also directly impacts Economic activity.

Metal theft also encompasses a wide spectrum of criminality, from the opportunist through to serious and organised crime groups, attacking public art and heritage buildings, communications, rail and vehicle parts, including catalytic converters. The list is long, and in Africa there is also evidence of cross overs with people trafficking and arms smuggling. In light of this, AMC international has put together a three day conference with an aim of providing a platform where affected sectors can come together to examine the most relevant and current threats as well as perceived future threats and how to tackle these collaboratively to minimize risk .

The conference will draw a number of industry and enforcement experts to help in combating theft issues in Africa looking into risk mitigation strategies and mechanisms, the challenges posed by these phenomena to business, community and economy at large and deliberate on technical solutions to help curb metal theft.
