Atlas Copco Power Technique has developed a portfolio of online solutions to support its portable range of generators, air compressors, light towers, pumps and hand-held tools. The solutions are aimed at helping customers to connect remotely with machines and equipment, access essential product information and make online purchases.

“We have developed these smart online solutions to promote customers’ sustainable productivity by boosting product performance and efficiencies, and extending life cycles, while also trimming carbon footprints,” states Atlas Copco Power Technique service division business line manager Douw van Schalkwyk.

The interactive platform includes Parts Online, Shop Online, Power Connect, FleetLink and Learning Link interactive programs.

Parts Online features an up-to-date spare parts catalogue system, enabling customers and distributors to find and purchase the required spare parts and consumables for Atlas Copco portable machines and equipment, while the e-commerce platform, Atlas Copco Shop Online (soon to become Spare Parts webshop), facilitates online purchases.

The Atlas Copco Power Connect portal links customers directly to specific machines’ spare parts catalogues (hosted on Parts Online) where products can be selected before proceeding to Shop Online to place an order.

Van Schalkwyk explains that if customers do not have the relevant part number, they can enter a machine’s serial number in Power Connect or scan the QR code – both of which can be found on the data plate on Atlas Copco products. This provides customers with access to technical details of portable equipment including machine, component and warranty information, technical drawings and instruction manuals. “It is so convenient to have all this information in one place,” says Van Schalkwyk , that Power Connect also provides service videos on machine start-up, trouble shooting, and other information. Customers can also share machine information on this online portal.

FleetLink is Atlas Copco’s smart fleet management solution, described as an intelligent telematics system that enables customers, including rental companies, to monitor and manage their entire Atlas Copco machine fleet remotely. The FleetLink application can help keep customers connected to job sites, machines and teams, providing access to information from any location at any time.

The portal also features geo- and time-fencing as well as running hours-based service, or service notifications, which can be used to maintain control of machines for accurate fleet monitoring and proactive planning of maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.

FleetLink Connectivity hardware is built into and connected to the controllers of compressors, generators or pumps. The hardware, SmartBox or CoreBox, retrieves data from the equipment and sends it directly to a customisable dashboard where it is transformed into actionable data that can be processed and managed.

“We also have a solution for customers whose generators and/or compressors aren’t brand new,” explains Van Schalkwyk. “The FleetLink RetroFit Kit, which contains the SmartBox, will still give customers access to the FleetLink connectivity.”

“We have also developed an online training platform, Learning Link, to support our distributors who are an important route to market,” adds Van Schalkwyk. “This platform ensures that our distributors remain up to date with Atlas Copco’s latest products and technological advancements.”
