The new paper machine will be located in Umeå, Sweden.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a new paper machine at the Obbola mill.

Production from Obbola will increase from 450 000 t/y of kraftliner to 725 000 t/y to meet the growing demand for renewable packaging.

With a wire width of 10 200 mm and a design speed of 1 400 m/min, the second paper machine will be the most productive of its kind. The new paper machine is being built in a new building, in line with the current paper machine. As a result, the current plant will be in full production during the entire construction period before switching over to the new machine ahead of the startup in 2023.
