The project is located in Dutse, in the northern Nigerian state of Jigawa.

Scatec Solar.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant, which will be able to produce 200 000 MWh/y of electricity and avoid 120 000 t/y of carbon dioxide emissions.

The project includes the construction of a dedicated 132 kV overhead transmission line that will connect the plant to the Dutse substation.

The electricity will be sold to Nigeria’s bulk purchaser of electricity, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading, under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

The project aims to achieve financial close in 2017 and commercial operation in 2018.

Latest Developments
Scatec Solar has signed a joint development agreement with Africa50, an African Infrastructure Fund sponsored by the African Development Bank and more than 20 African States and Norfund (the Norwegian Investment  Fund for Development Countries), securing investment for the Nova Scotia plant.
