While President Jacob Zuma is doing much ribbon cutting in the run-up to the May 7 poll, no ceremony is planned for his private residence at Nkandla, where around R246-million has been spent on ‘security’ upgrades. The Public Protector found that prices were inflated and rules and regulations flouted. She has also recommended that Zuma pay back a portion of the money. But Zuma has argued that he never asked for the upgrades.
