Ngonye solar plant.

Location
The project is located in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone, in the south of Zambia.

Client
The Ngonye solar plant will be owned by a special purpose vehicle in which the Enel group will hold 80% and the Zambia Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) 20%.

Project Description
The project forms part of the Scaling Solar programme, a World Bank Group solution assisting governments in quickly procuring and developing large-scale solar projects using private financing. The facility is expected to produce about 70 GWh/y, helping Zambia reduce power shortages and diversifying the country’s energy generation mix.
