© Reuse this Local company IE Gasket & Pressing has been appointed the official Flexitallic agent in South Africa. Flexitallic is one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of static seals and the originator of the spiral-wound gasket. The product range is composed of four primary product groups: semi- metallic gaskets, compression packing, metallic gaskets and sheet gasket material (which can be supplied standard and special). Although product from CAF has served industry needs for many years, increasing concern over the use of asbestos-based products has necessitated the development and introduction of non-asbestos fibre-based alternatives. A range of high-quality non-asbestos fibresheet materials is now available, offering, in most instances, suitable alternatives to the range of asbestos grades. With a worldwide emphasis to phase out asbestos-based products, non-asbestos sheetfibre material now accounts for more than 60% of the total fibresheet product sales worldwide. Products to be found in the non-asbestos range are Kammprofiles, Thermiculite and Sigma. Flexitallic has also secured the Dow Chemical contract globally. The firm designs and manufactures all its products under a quality system. © Reuse this Comment Guidelines (150 word limit)
