The SAM base series automatically adjusts the motor to its new position as belt stretch occurs.
The high-quality rubber of these motor bases has the capacity to be pretensioned, and can retain and release torsional force when necessary, automatically maintaining the required tension on V-belts.
These motor bases also dampen vibration to motor bearings and V-belts, which ensures smooth running, therefore, increasing the service life of belts and bearings. Vibration is transmitted to the rubber where most of the energy is dissipated.
The SAM base is an energy-saving product, as it prevents the wastage of kilowatts that would normally result from V-belts slipping.
“With these motor bases, accurate tensioning is an easy, one-man opera- tion and does not require advanced technical skills,” says OST Africa director Gavin Pelser.
He adds that other advantages include the enhanced performance; permanent alignment; reduced maintenance, replacement and labour costs; as well as the minimal down time and loss of produc- tion.
These motor bases are used to enhance the power transmission of systems, such as crushers, mills, pumps, fans, feeders, belt conveyors and any other V-belt drive applications.
The SAM bases are available nationally from Invicta Bearings & Transmission and Bearing Man outlets, which offer a technical advisory and 24-hour back-up service.
