Volt  (1.06 MB)

Company Announcement - With the opening of a new laboratory for incoming goods, Volt has given a major impulse towards its target for continuous quality improvement.  The new laboratory is used for mechanical and electrical tests as well as analyzing the behavior of incoming sub-assemblies.

The mechanical laboratory is fully equipped with state-of-the-art  test and measuring equipment. Among the equipment are systems for conducting hardening, tensile strength, shaft control, roughness, roundness, salt spray and thermal cycles test.
In the electrical laboratory pulse dielectric, insulation, winding, electrical resistance, spring back and electrical continuity tests are conducted.

Apart from the mechanical and electrical tests and measurements also chemical aspects tests are conducted. For this purpose the labs also have a spectrometer available as well as several instruments for microscopic research. The new laboratory is one of the many quality initiatives of Volt. A Continuous Improvement Process is used to improve products, the efficiency of processes and service duties. To reach its targets Volt Electric Motors has incorporated and increased flexibility in the production, lead time reduction and reducing material handling losses. All processes and procedures are executed by adhering to the rules of ISO 9001, Environment, Health & Safety.
