A new bimetal thermometer is said to meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, the food industry and biotechnology.

The model TG58SA display instrument from WIKA is in an ASME bioprocessing equipment-compliant design, meets the 3-A sanitary standard and has European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group , or EHEDG, and ATEX approval. The selection of industry-standard scale ranges and process connections (clamp, DIN 11864, VARINLINE) helps to ensure that the thermometer is flexible and globally applicable. Information about the connections is lasered onto the device and the active length of the sensor is indicated on the dial, to help ensure correct temperature measurement.

The stem of the measuring instrument has a hemispherical bottom and it can be cleaned in a process-safe manner, in accordance with 3-A and EHEDG. It is designed to be suitable for clean-in-place, sterilization-in-place and wash-down processes.

WIKA notes that the hygienic features of its TG58SA model are complemented by a robust design. The thermometer offers a high overtemperature resistance and its shatterproof window is also ultraviolet-resistant.
