A new range of power tools, manufactured by technology supplier Robert Bosch Power Tools, will improve working conditions and increase efficiency with an incorporated dust-extraction system.
The Bosch GBR 15 CAG Professional grinder, due to be launched in June, is a professional, robust concrete grinder, powered by a 1 500 W electric motor. It has a nonload disc speed of 9 300 rpm and can fit a diamond grinding head of 125 mm.
Fast progress, even under heavy working conditions, is achieved through a power booster device called Constant Electronic, which keeps the selected speed constant at all times of operation, which, in turn, is essential for removing formwork-related concrete residues.
With the grinder, those in the finishing trades, such as plasterers, painters and tilers, will be able to grind weather-beaten surfaces, uneven wall surfaces or mortar and adhesive residues in preparation for subsequent work.
The GBR 15 CAG Professional is designed for grinding close to surface edges.
A plastic protective guard can be opened to allow for better reach of the diamond grinding head, which can subsequently get closer to working surfaces, such as floors, walls and ceiling edges, while grinding around existing installations, such as pipes, enabling the adjacent surfaces to be ground precisely.
This makes the grinder versatile, allowing for the quick and thorough grinding of surfaces, even during time-consuming renovation projects.
Protection for User and Machine
The dust-extraction system was launched in South Africa in September last year. This vacuum system can be connected to the grinder, decreasing the amount of airborne dust.
The vacuum and grinder combination is part of the Click & Clean System from Bosch. It comprises the L-Box storage system, power tools, wet- and dry-dust extractors and dust- extractor accessories, which are interchangeable with one another and combine to help ensure a healthier working environment, efficiency and greater precision.
A four-stage dust labyrinth ensures a machine’s long life cycle. It prevents abrasive concrete dust from entering into the gearbox and the motor, which could damage these components.
The grinder weighs 2.6 kg and has a handle with a slim circumference and soft-grip surface. These product features enable tradespeople to handle the Bosch concrete grinders comfortably and with minimal fatigue, even during extended periods of use.
The features of the tools for the GBR 15 CAG grinder are completed by a brush ring and a large spindle lock button, making it easier to change the diamond grinding head.
Meanwhile, the company reports that two new industrial stirrers will be launched next month, including the Bosch GRW 12 E Professional and GRW 18-2 E Professional stirrers. These electric stirrers will be used to stir thick or thin viscosity materials.
The stirrers are aimed at professional tradespeople, who can choose between the
1 200 W and 1 800 W motor versions. The stirrers fit comfortably in an operator’s hand, owing to the tool’s frame handle, which ensures low user fatigue, even during continuous use. The accelerator switch is integrated into the handle and the stirring speed can be varied continuously, which reduces material splattering during mixing.
If the paddle has to be changed, the universal Bosch M14 tool holder ensures easy accessory changes.
The GRW 12 E Professional is a one-speed stirrer that is suitable for materials with low to medium viscosity such as paints, varnishes, adhesive or grout.
Depending on its consistency, the material is blended at speeds of up to 1 000 rpm.
The stirrer can handle a maximum mixing volume of 50 kg, with the maximum paddle diameter being 140 mm.
Further, the GRW 18-2 E Professional stirrer, which comes with a two-speed gearbox, can mix volumes of up to 80 kg and its maximum paddle diameter is 180 mm.
With a motor speed of up to 450 rpm, it enables the stirring of thicker viscosity materials such as plaster, mortar and putty in first gear. The second gear increases speed up to 1 050 rpm, making it suitable for stirring thinner viscosity materials such as paste or grouting compound.
Other accessories, such as stainless steel paddles, are available in the Bosch range of accessories.
