Company Announcement - Bryan Galliver has been promoted to audit partner at BDO. Bryan is a chartered accountant who has been exposed to various industries over the years including logistics, manufacturing, non-profit organisations, retail, travel and tourism, mineral resources, chemicals and a number of service-related entities. He has worked at BDO with one short break in service since he joined the company in 1999, serving his articles and qualifying as a chartered accountant. He worked briefly in commerce as a financial manager before returning to BDO in 2007 to the position of a senior audit manager and, later, associate director.

Sumesh Somaroo CA (SA), RA
Sumesh Somaroo has been appointed audit and assurance partner at BDO. He is a chartered accountant and registered auditor with expertise in pre-issuance reviews for Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Municipal Financial Management Act (MFMA) entities and a variety of public and private sector organisations. He has conducted inspections on behalf of the Estate Agency Affairs Board, financial due diligence analyses and forensic investigations. He started his professional career at MSGM Masuku Jeena (now part of PWC), where he served his articles and worked as a manager, before moving to commerce and industry where he was the financial accountant for a chemical manufacturing company. Thereafter, he managed the Durban office of LMD Africa Chartered Accountants (now part of PWC).Sumesh spent the last 10 years in public practice where he was involved in various industries ranging from education, manufacturing, retail and public sector.

Kevin Govender CA (SA)
Kevin Govender has been appointed audit manager at BDO. A chartered accountant, Kevin has experience in municipal internal audits, valuations and financial due diligence investigations for private sector organisations. He has also conducted inspections for the Estate Agency Affairs Board. Before joining BDO, he worked as a manager at the Durban office of G&G Chartered Accountants, after serving his articles at LMD Africa (now part of PWC).

Liezl Haus CA (SA)
Liezl has been appointed audit manager at BDO after a short break in service in 2014. She joined BDO Spencer Steward in February 2007 as a Trainee Accountant. Liezl completed her articles with BDO and continued working in the audit department as a supervisor. She was promoted to audit manager in 2012. Liezl is a chartered accountant who has been exposed to various industries over the years including manufacturing, travel and tourism, non-profit organisations and service-related entities.
