ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems  (0.11 MB)

Another three automotive dealerships, two based in South Africa’s Gauteng Province and the third in Mpumalanga, have opted for Besam SL500 bi-parting sliding doors from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems for fast, easy, safe and convenient customer, personnel and vehicle passage. Moreover, these aesthetically appealing, environmentally friendly doors contribute to significant energy savings.

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems has successfully completed numerous Besam bi-parting door installations at various automotive dealerships around the country. Managing Director, André Aiton, confirms that the system is a particularly popular choice for this market sector and attributes a number of factors to this success - world-class quality, fundamental to the sustainable delivery of continuous and reliable operation, a maximum life time and excellent value for money.

By keeping heat, cold, wind and dust outside and the climate-controlled atmosphere inside the building, the Besam sliding doors create a stable and comfortable internal environment for customers and personnel. Air-conditioners normally operate all day long and the alleviation on the workloads of these units reduces their energy consumption which subsequently lowers electricity bills for the customer.

The pedestrian-friendly Besam doors are especially designed for continuous handling high volumes of people traffic entering and exiting the premises with minimum effort and at a high degree of safety, also making them suitable for shopping and banking malls, medical facilities, etc.    2/…Automotive Dealerships green their entrances _Besam Door Systems

The Besam door system also leads the market in security. A straightforward selection from a number of options and security levels available on this versatile door system puts customers in complete control of access to their premises. Furthermore, locking devices and operation mode selectors can be tailored to meet customers’ individual security needs during, before, and after business hours. An additional security feature on these systems is an electric lock which was fitted to all three dealerships’ Besam door systems. All sliding door operators are linked to fire alarm systems for safe, easy and fast evacuation.

The doors also offer a wide variety of setting options. By switching sensors at any time the doors can be set on automatic opening and closing (ideal for two-way traffic flow under normal operation), permanently open or partially open. Doors can also be set to allow one-way passage from the inside only.

The door is normally locked if an electro-magnetic locking device has been fitted as is the case at one of the dealerships in Gauteng where six break glass boxes have been added; the doors can then only be opened with the inner activation unit or with a key switch/emergency push-button. The electronic electro-magnetic devices will open the doors automatically in the event of an emergency.

There is also an off function setting which prevents the door from being opened with an inner or outer activation unit. Aiton explains that this function is used only on emergency escape doors after determining that all people have left the building. Finally the reset option will allow the door to return to the closed position and function as normal.

Further benefits offered by Besam door systems include:
A twelve month warranty: Commencing from time of delivery
Service: Regular inspections conducted by trained, qualified personnel
One year Maintenance Contract with an option to extend annually
