Custom mixed-layout connectors and cable assemblies, complemented by a full suite of cable conditioning and testing services

Molex Incorporated designs and manufactures custom mixed-layout connectors and cable assemblies through FCT electronic GmbH, a Molex company. Providing custom interconnect solutions tailored to meet specific customer requirements, FCT products and services can be found in a wide range of aircraft interior applications, such as those found in today’s advanced inflight entertainment and cabin control systems for passenger comfort and well-being.

“Often, by their very nature, cable assembly requirements from our customers in the aircraft interiors industry are custom,” says Thomas Winderl, Marketing FCT. “FCT has many standard, well-maintained processes and documentation standards to guarantee the high levels of quality our customers require, as well as meeting specific industry standards.”

With ISO9001 and ISO 14001 manufacturing operations in Germany, the Czech Republic, Thailand and the United States, FCT is fully capable of supporting quick turnaround requirements, regardless of the volume required, complemented by a full suite of cable conditioning and testing services to ensure specified electrical and mechanical criteria are met.

From ‘on demand’ prototyping and small series production to mass production, FCT has in-depth experience and knowledge of standard cables, overmoulded cables, semi rigid cables, coax cables, IDC-Ribbon cables, electric power supply cables and complex wiring harnesses.

This is complemented by FCT’s extensive range of D-Sub connectors, including mixed layout and high density types, full metal and plastic hoods, to support the aircraft interiors market where a high mix of technologies is frequently required. In addition, FCT offers a range of twisted signal contacts and special contacts, as well as solder and crimp PCB terminals (straight and angled).
