Company Announcement - Molex Incorporated has launched its SMPM RF Blind-Mate Connectors designed for high density computing and telecommunications applications. Molex SMPM RF Blind-Mate Connectors feature a compact 3.56mm pitch and deliver a frequency range of DC to 65 GHz. “SMPM RF Connectors are 30 percent smaller than standard SMP connectors,” states Darren Schauer, product manager, Molex. “The compact SMPM design reduces system weight, while delivering excellent frequency performance and design flexibility in board-to-board blind-mate applications.”
SMPM RF Blind-Mate Connectors are MIL-PRF-39012 compliant for aerospace/defence applications requiring optimal frequency performance. Providing reliable electrical performance without degradation through multiple mating cycles, the SMPM blind-mate interface self-aligns to withstand radial and axial misalignment (up to 0.25mm) inherent with board-to-board mating. The push-on design eliminates the need for threads or tools for installation.
Molex SMPM RF Blind-Mate connectors are available in custom bullet lengths and multi-port interface styles to cover a wide range of custom board-to-board application specifications. SMPM RF Blind-Mate Connectors are compatible with Molex Temp-Flex™ coaxial flexible microwave cable for terminations and assemblies at an overall lower cost. “High performance SMPM RF board-to-board and cable connectors provide customers a full range of options to maximise space savings in mission critical applications,” adds Schauer.
