A new mobile platform allows customers to track and coordinate the delivery of shipments across sub-Saharan Africa.

The app offers a number of features, allowing users to access shipping quotations, find service points for collections and deliveries and track shipments in real time.

DHL Express has launched the app in South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mauritius, Tanzania and Uganda and it will be rolled out in a further 40 countries across the region by the end of 2020.

The mobile app is part of the company’s stated commitment to drive innovations that enhance customer experience.  The company notes that its customers are constantly evolving and changing the ways in which they communicate, work, travel and consume, which has led to the creation of  solutions that are agile enough to adapt to customers’ changing needs.

In addition, the company sees the growth of online transactions in Africa as a clear sign of the increased  demand for integrated mobile solutions that allow customers to transact whenever and wherever they are.

A report by GSMA Intelligence revealed that mobile phones and services are enabling business growth in Africa. The mobile ecosystem has made a significant contribution to the economy in sub-Saharan Africa so far, with an economic value contribution of $110-billion, equivalent to 7.1% of the region’s gross domestic product in 2017.

The company expressed its commitment to providing solutions that help to connect Africa’s consumers and business owners with the global market.
