The Investing in African Mining Indaba is a strategic event that allows energy and solutions company Engen to understand the mining industry and its trajectory, says Engen mining sales manager Simon Prevett.

This insight is key to tailor Engen’s solutions and customer value propositions to meet customer needs in Africa, he adds.

“Engen strives to be a valued partner to our customers by developing solutions that alleviate their pain points.”

This determination to rise above the label of a typical supplier has prompted Engen to invest in world-class infrastructure, manufacturing facilities and a market leading supply chain footprint across South Africa and the rest of Africa.

The company also pursues corporate social investment initiatives and develops local suppliers, together with its customers to create a more inclusive economy. This is in addition to offering customised onsite services through Engen’s Fluidlink Asset Performance Management offering.

“We further develop innovative products and services such as the latest specification low sulphur diesel (10ppm), mining specific speciality chemicals as well as energy-saving and low emission lubricant products,” elaborates Prevett.

The growth of Engen’s enterprise development and localisation partnerships in the African mining industry over the past few years has been the most rewarding success, he says.

“Our vision is to develop a model for future partnerships to achieve a more inclusive economy. Engen has also experienced phenomenal growth in the mining sector by focussing on our key competencies – service excellence, security of supply through our supply chain strength and agility.”
